Prepare for Adorableness!

Natasha Allegri, best known for creating Adventure Time rule 63 characters Fionna & Cake, has made her own original web cartoon. Bee & Puppycat will premiere on the Cartoon Hangover YouTube channel on July 11th.

And like Adventure Time, it looks both adorable and hilarious. From the Trailer, the show appears to be about an unemployed woman who becomes involved with a possibly alien puppy (or cat, or both). Presumably adventure and hijinks ensue. Read more abut it here.

I love how Puppycat calls her Peon. I hope he tries to conquer the world.

Stallone & Schwarzenegger: Together again

Where the hell did this come from?

The two living gods of goofy action movies get together to make a futuristic prison break movie and nobody hears anything about it? Weird.

Anyway, here's the Trailer for The Escape Plan.

Looks good, the kind of goofy sort-of high concept sci-fi action movies these guys used to make. Movies like The Running Man or Demolition Man. Arnie's looking a little old and tired but we'll see how things shake out.

Make a Mech

We here at Serial Wordsmith HQ are counting the days until Pacific Rim, Guillermo Del Toro's upcoming giant robots vs. giant monsters movie. And if you're looking for a fix in the meantime, there's a cool "Build a Jaeger" game available on the film's website. It doesn't have many options right now, but it's still pretty damn fun.

Yes, I am a giant robot

This looks good and that frightens me

Below, the trailer for the LEGO movie...

I know, it looks good. Really good. And that makes no sense.

A blatantly commercial movie made to entertain kids and sell toys? Combining the two odious worlds of movies based on old toys and animated kid's movies/ This should be a piece of shit unparalleled.

And yet, it looks good. Could it be that the filmmakers actually cared about the material? That they aren't afraid to acknowledge the silliness of this?

I don't know, but I know the possibility scares me.

In Zod We Trust

We're only a few days away from getting a new Superman movie. From all we've seen, I have high hopes for Man of Steel. But one thing I don't need to worry about is Michael Shannon as General Zod. Shannon is proving to be one of the best bad-guy actors of recent years so giving him a fun meaty role like Zod is basically a slam-dunk.

But it occurred to me that some of the more comics-illiterate among you may not know much about good General and his relationship to the Man of Steel. So, magnanimous gent that I am, I thought it'd be helpful (or at least interesting) to tell you more about him.

Hit the jump and get ready to kneel,
