- Probably the best overall Spider-Man movie yet. The Raimi trilogy did a few things better, but overall I liked this one more than any of those.
- Andrew Garfield is a better Spider-Man than Tobey Maguire. He doesn't have the same awkward stiffness about him and seems more like the guy from the comic.
- He also has great chemistry with Emma Stone. Even if their romance isn't particularly well written.
- Emma Stone is a pretty good Gwen Stacy.
- Great supporting cast. Martin Sheen is the best Uncle Ben ever. Denis Leary is funny and plays off Stone and Garfield well. And Sally Field is good even if Rosemary Harris is the definitive Aunt May.
- The Lizard is a bit schizophrenic. There's a bit too much difference between his human self and his lizard self. Still makes a cool visual though.
- The plot's all over the place. Certain threads are brought up and dropped. There isn't a cohesive narrative thread through the whole thing.
- It's only two hours but feels longer.
- The Action is right out of a classic Spidey comic. Spider-Man moves more like Spider-Man than he did in any of the Raimi movies.
- There's a mid-credits teaser, so you don't have to wait through them all.
- The new costume still sucks.
