Oh DC, Why do you keep doing this?
So apparently Superman and Wonder Woman are going to get into a relationship. Again. Okay, so this is the first time it's happened in canon but still the Supes/WW pairing has plenty of precedent. Doug Moench did it, Frank Miller did it, Mark Waid did it and it's always been stupid. To be fair, I see why people pair these two up. World's strongest man and world's strongest woman, makes logical sense.* But that's why it doesn't work. Superman and Wonder Woman are too much like each other. They're both selfless, brave superheroes who always try to bring the best out of people. They're like gender reverses of each other.
But as stupid as it is, I'm not worried. Shit like this happens. Superman has strayed from Lois Lane before and I won't get into Wondy's love life, but stuff like this has happened. It won't stick. Superman's perfect mate is Lois Lane, they'll end up back together soon enough. It's inevitable. They're like Tristan & Isolde, Mario & Peach, or Zoe & Wash. It's destiny.
As for Wonder Woman. Well, maybe DC could bring back Steve Trevor or out her. Give the poor gal some direction.
*No, I'm not bringing up the Men of Steel, Women of Kleenex thing. That's a joke and you all know it.
